Shankh has established himself as a highly creative and innovative concert artist in both the
classical and experimental world music spheres. From an early age, he received intensive training
in both vocal music and Tabla from his father Shri Rabindranath Lahiri and later under Pandit
Sandeep Dev. Presently, Shankh is a senior disciple of Pandit Nayan Ghosh.
He has accompanied and toured with many distinguished musicians, including Pandit Jasraj,
Shujaat Khan, Shahid Parvez, Arati Ankalikar, Pandit Nayan Ghosh (sitar), Pandit Mukul
Shivputra (vocal), Rakesh Chaurasia, kanjira master Selva Ganesh, and many others.
Shankh has performed at major festivals throughout India and internationally, including the
LearnQuest Music Festival in Boston, the Raga Live Festival, the Chicago Jazz Festival, Tropical
Heatwave Festival, Gasparilla Music Festival, Lights on Tampa Festival, India Fest in Richmond,
and many more.
